[Academic] Thank You The Studio of Secret6 Inc.

Technical Developers of  Secret6

Well this basically concludes my internship at The Studio of Secret6 Inc. for my college life.  First of all I would like to say thank you to the sutdio for accepting and believing in my talents to experience and be part of your awesome studio.  It was really a great oppurtunity to work and as well as learn from the industry professionals themselves. I'm thankful that I had the chance to be a part of this team and further enhance my skills as a game developer.

During my stay in Secret6 I was able to learn many things.  From a new engine that was given by the client itself down to a more hardcore Math heavy programming techniques using the Unreal Engine 4 development.  Well learning a new engine at first was kinda bit challengine because of course with minimal supervision from the team itself but if you ask questions they really answer it in a way that you'll fully understand it and I'm very thankful for that approach.  After learning the engine after 3-4 days, I was assigned to be a part of the Cartoon Network (CN) Team and was given my first project ever in Secret6.  It felt really exciting because finally I've got to work with a profressional team production where you were given artists, designers, and producers.  Ofcourse in every CN team there is only 1 programmer per game and this was really challenging for me at first because of the fact that I was abit nervous atfirst if I could meet up with their expectations to deliver the game on time.  But will all of those worries on hand I managed to submit my first game and later on during the span of my stay in the studio I was able to pass 4 games.

After the CN Project, I was transferred to another project that involves VR using the HTC Vive and the engine was Unreal Engine.  As for that project we were already  2 programmers.  It was really fun developing that game because I was able to learn how to user Behavior Trees and conquer my fear for creating AIs using BTs because that time I really had no experience making algorithms using Behavior Trees and that my project needed intensive AI behavior.  With that I was able to learn about algorithms on how to make an AI behave as if it was really a human being.  Well I wasn't able to finish that project because I already ended my internship last Decemeber 2.  Eventhough I wasn't able to finish that one I'm thankful for my partner in programming who taught me a lot.  Really like as in I really learned a lot from him.  It's like learning a whole semester from him.  He taught me a lot of techniques in programming and as well game math.  Learning from him was really one of the things that I'm thankful for.  Also I'm thankful that I was able to contribute to his learnings as well.

I would like to personally thank Secret6 for the experience that they've given me during my stay.  Really learned a lot from them and had one of the best experiences in my life as a game developer.  I'm also thankful that I was able to meet new colleagues as well as new friends from other departments along the way.  Game development is all about sharing experiences and learnings with other game developers in order for the both of you to grow and become the best in your own field.  Secret6 is really indeed one of the best game development studios to be here in the Philippines.

Secret6 made me feel and experience how it is like to be a professional game developer.
